Featured on Back Trax Edition 402 - April 9th, 2006

By the end of the 80s, he was one of the most popular players on the British dance scene. He had scored several huge worldwide hits and sold millions of records.

Although those early years provided their share of hits and chart action, it still seemed as though Paul Hardcastle had not yet found his true direction. That all changed with the release of The Jazzmasters in 1991. The album stayed on the smooth jazz charts for over a year ... check the feature.

Featured on our Best of '05 Review Part 2: Edition 392 - Jan. 15th, 2006

It was there that Rainforest reached #1 in sales as a 12-inch and knocked Madonna off the top of the dance charts in the process. Read more .

It was Hardcastle's follow up, however, that would break his name internationally. Ever staying true to the dance floor feel that had always been integral to his sound, Hardcastle's self-titled effort contained 19, a track based on a statistic he had heard about the average age of combat soldiers in the Vietnam War. It went #1 in 13 countries, sold 4 million copies worldwide, and was one of the top single for 1985. Hardcastle's reputation was secure!! Read more .
