Several years after an auspicious arrival, Bona Fide is still redefining the contemporary landscape. Back in the late 90s, band founder Tim "Slim Man" Camponeschi connected with a few friends in & around the Baltimore area.

Their debut release set a new standard, delivering a grittier & funkier brand of music. From that effort, High Street was a major hit; X Ray Hip gained favourably airplay, while the title track proved an unqualified masterpiece. Soul Lounge - Bona Fide:
Showcased on Edition 383 - November 6th, 2005

Bona Fide is the creation & musical alter ego for the smooth jazz crooner known as Slim Man. Tim Camponeschi is the man behind the project. For a time, Camponeschi worked as an in-house writer at Motown & then in the 80s he MC'd a raveling country music talent contest. That was when he picked up his unusual manicure. When asked how he had registered at a local hotel, Camponeschi replied "slim chance" that he would give his real name since he'd had experiences with unhappy contestants venting their frustrations when they knew where to find him. In time that reply became "Slim Man".

After a few efforts fronting a rock band, Camponeschi launched his solo career as The Slim Man with his debut in 1995. Bona Fide is the creation & musical alter ego for the smooth jazz crooner known as Slim Man. Tim Camponeschi is the man behind the project. He connected with a few friends in & around the Baltimore area back in the late 90s and what began as a trio on their 1999 debut has evolved into a five-piece combo over the course of that & their next couple of projects. Always true to their mantra of delivering a grittier & funkier brand of music, Soul Lounge continues the Bona Fide tradition. On this their debut on the Heads Up label & their third release overall, Bona Fide continue to tug at the boundaries of their unique brand of jazz infused chill.
